The eldest daughter and the dragon
Robyn Laider

This fairytale book is written by a Canadian-Estonian author, who grew up in Canada and lived in Estonia for 5 years, studying Estonian language and culture.
The story begins when a dragon kidnaps a family. Fortunately, the eldest daughter is in the forest and secretly follows the dragon to save her family. The dragon takes the family to its world, where time is running seven times faster. An old gray-headed wizard who seems to know very powerful magic decides to help the girl. She learns how important it is to help others and that in order to save her family, she must just know how to ask for the right help. Will the girl figure it out?
The colourful illustrations support the story very well and are made by Piret Mildeberg – a well-known Estonian artist. Especially the dragon is depicted in an interesting way.
The story will be suitable for girls and boys who like adventure stories and mythical creatures.
