Innovation lab

We have two 3D printers – Ultimaker 2+ and Ultimaker S3. These can be used to print smaller plastic objects such as toys, jewellery or construction parts. You can create your own designs or download them from the internet.

You can buy the filament you need for printing on the spot. PLA filament is available in white, black, silver, red, orange, yellow, blue, pink, light green and dark green. TPU 95A filament is available in white and black. In addition, it is possible to use water-soluble PVA filament, which can be used as a backing material (to create support structures for printing).

The price of 3D printing is based on the weight of the object: €0.20 per gram. You can also use your own material if you wish – in this case printing is free.

Graphics tabletmakes drawing on the computer very easy – you can draw almost as if you were using a normal pencil, and the resulting image is directly visible on the tablet, just as if you were creating it on paper. That’s why it’s handy for beginners and professionals alike.

Graphics tablets (5 pcs) can be used on site, they are not rented home. The devices include the design programs ClipStudio, FlipaClip and Medibang. In addition, there is a stand with which you can use the graphics tablet in a more comfortable position, and Wacom Pro Pen 3 pens.

You can print and cut stickers in different colors. You can make your own designs or download them from the internet.

You can heat-press stickers onto fabrics such as cotton, linen, polyester or a mixture of these. On site we sell cloth bags (€2.50 each) that you can design yourself. Please bring other items of clothing or fabrics (e.g. T-shirts or pillowcases) and make sure that they can withstand a heat of 150°C.

Adhesive film is used to make stickers that can be stuck to a wide variety of surfaces.

You can also use your own vinyl if you wish. In this case the service is free of charge, but please check in advance that the material is compatible with the device.

Heat-pressed stickers can be heat-pressed onto fabric (cotton, linen, polyester or blends). A cloth bag (€2.50 each) is available on site, which can be personalised. Please bring other items of clothing or fabrics (e.g. T-shirts, pillowcases, etc.) yourself, making sure they are heat resistant (150°C).

• It is also possible to use your own supplied film, in which case the service is free of charge (make sure the material is compatible with the device before using).

With laser cutting, you can cut and engrave different materials with a laser. It makes it easy to create detailed objects from paper, cardboard, leather, wood, plywood or plexiglass. You can also engrave images and text on the same materials. Plexiglas and plywood can be purchased on site:

• Plexiglas (3 mm): 0,60 € / 10×10 cm
• Plexiglas (5 mm): 1,00 € / 10×10 cm
• Plywood: 0,50 € / 10×10 cm

You can also use your own materials if you wish – the service is then free of charge. NOTE: Some materials are not suitable for use because they may reflect dangerous radiation or emit toxic gases. Be sure not to use PVC, vinyl, artificial leather, polystyrene or polypropylene foam. If you are unsure, ask the librarian if the material is suitable.

With the cutting and pressing machine, you can cut or press paper and cardboard using cutting blades and texture plates. It’s a quick way to make beautiful cards, scrapbooks and more.

Please bring your own materials! You can also bring your own cutting blades and texture plates.

With the badge press, you can make round badges with the design you want. The diameter of the badge is 37 mm. The stamps are available on the spot and cost 70 cents per stamp.

You can print your design or draw it on paper. The diameter of the image, including the bottom edge of the badge, must be 45 mm.

Hybrid camera available at at the library on site, it is not available to borrow to home. You can take pictures or record a video in our creative room with a tripod, microphone and other equipment. For more information photo studio page.

With virtual reality goggles, you can experience games on a whole new level. As well as playing games, you can visit different places in virtual reality, or even travel in space. You can use the goggles in the Kännukuke library’s glass room, where there’s plenty of space to move and play.

Anyone over the age of 13 can wear goggles. 13-17. the consent of a parent or guardian is required. Children under the age of 13 may wear goggles only in the presence and under the responsibility of a parent.

Wear your goggles so that they are secure on your head. The set also includes hand-held remote controls. Monitor how you feel and stop playing as soon as you feel uncomfortable. Take a break after 30 minutes. You can use the glasses for a maximum of 1 hour per day.

in the Kännukuke library you are able to write code for Edison, LEGO WeDo2, LEGO Spike and Bee-Bot robots and play with inventor kits Makey Makey and Strawbees.

* This service is provided in the Kännukuke library. The services of the Innovation Lab are free of charge, provided that the user has the necessary materials to use the equipment.

We offer the possibility to book a group of up to 12 people for a programme of Innovation Lab services, such as 3D modelling or T-shirt making. The maximum price per programme is €80 with a price multiplier of 0.5-1.0 (depending on the length of the programme and preparation time). A material fee is added to the price. If there are more than 12 participants in a group, the fee for each additional participant is € 5.
