- You can borrow a ROMOSS sailing 3 battery bank for on-site use to recharge the batteries of your mobile phones and other digital devices.
- You can book computer use time in advance by email, phone or in person at the library. WiFi is available in all our libraries.
As a reader of Tallinn Libraries you can:
- borrow from a self-service machine, return books in some libraries, and check your loans, overdue charges and extend the deadline for returning the item(s) if you wish. You can print out a loan slip or send it to an e-mail. It is not possible to borrow items from another service unit or reading room, to borrow items on hold for another patron, or to borrow items or the latest issues of journals from branch libraries. If you have any questions, please ask the librarian.
- with the smart return shelf, you can quickly return items by placing them on the shelf and pressing “Return” on the screen.
- pre-order books (or others) with ESTER status in the e-catalogue in advance via the website order form, e-mail or telephone. Loaning lockers are located at the libraries of Südalinna, Liivalaia, Kännukuke, Laagna, Nõmme, Paepealse, Pelguranna, Pirita, Pääsküla, Väike-Õismäe. After you have placed your order, the library will contact you.

- Saving through a librarian and sending to an email address €0.20 per page.
We offer free individual and group training in Tallinn Libraries. We will agree on the time and place of the training together. The topics can be adapted and combined. We’ll find the right option for you.

We started creating the comic book collection for the Paepealse Library in the fall of 2012, and by now we have amassed a considerable number of comics, graphic novels, and manga. Our goal in completing the comic book collection is to offer the widest possible selection for children, young people, and adults.
You can play various board games at the library.
We also have Playstation 4 and 5. You can only play console games on site at the library. You can find the list of games here→
Kindergarten children visiting the library for the first time will be able to take part in the performance “Animals introduce the library”, where a fun story reveals who the writer is, who the artist is and what place the library is. The performance on the theme of space is “Moon Cat’s shenanigans in Space” by Joonas Sildre.

We invite kindergarten groups, classes and teachers to visit us for library hours.
- Library hour is an educational and participatory non-formal educational program in the library.
- It lasts about 45 minutes.
- Educational programmes are free of charge for Tallinn educational institutions! (except Culture Ticket classes). For institutions outside Tallinn, the library’s price list applies (except via Culture Backpack). ↓
Tallinn Libraries sell fiction (including children’s literature and poetry) and non-fiction books that are out of date, in large print or in new editions. Book prices start from € 0,15. The books on sale can be consulted at the library. The proceeds of the sale will be used to buy new books.
Libraries occasionally organise book fairs, keep an eye on our news, events calendar or join our newsletter. We also share information on our social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.

Our library offers free use of a quiet booth for up to two people, which is a bright and cozy space where you can focus on your work without distractions. The room also has a power outlet and a USB port for using your smart device or laptop.
For a fee, it is possible to rent our event hall for up to 20 people. Price 40 € / hour, price coefficient 0.4-1.0.
From the sports equipment collection you can borrow for free of charge various training equipment, exercise and training games and other mobility-related equipment.
For readers with special needs
- We have a lift for wheelchair users or those with mobility difficulties. To use the lift, you will need the assistance of a librarian, call 632 7463 and we will be there within about 5 minutes.
- You can park for free around the building at P. Pinna 8. There is a marked parking space next to the building for visitors with mobility impairments.
- We have a disabled toilet and a changing table.
- Service counter and hall has a hearing aid hearing loop, which you can use with your hearing aid in the hearing loop mode.
- You can borrow a magnifying glass from the service counter.
