Services
- There are five computer workstations. All computers are equipped with OpenOffice software and ID card readers. You can book your computer time in advance by email or phone.
You can borrow e-readers from Tallinn Libraries for 21 days without the possibility of extending the return period.
You can borrow the BOOX C65ML and BOOX Go Color 7 (Gen II) e-readers from the Laagna Library.
As a reader of Tallinn Libraries you can:
- borrow from a self-service machine, return books in some libraries, and check your loans, overdue charges and extend the deadline for returning the item(s) if you wish. You can print out a loan slip or send it to an e-mail. It is not possible to borrow items from another service unit or reading room, to borrow items on hold for another patron, or to borrow items or the latest issues of journals from branch libraries. If you have any questions, please ask the librarian.
- with the smart return shelf, you can quickly return items by placing them on the shelf and pressing “Return” on the screen.
- pre-order books (or others) with ESTER status in the e-catalogue in advance via the website order form, e-mail or telephone. Loaning lockers are located at the libraries of Südalinna, Liivalaia, Kännukuke, Laagna, Nõmme, Paepealse, Pelguranna, Pirita, Pääsküla, Väike-Õismäe. After you have placed your order, the library will contact you.

We offer free individual and group training in Tallinn Libraries. We will agree on the time and place of the training together. The topics can be adapted and combined. We’ll find the right option for you.

Copies and printing
- We can print in black and white A4 and A3, and in colour A4. see price list here→
Scanning
- Scanning by the librarian and sending to the reader’s e-mail address 0,20 € per page.
You can play various board games at the library.
We also have Playstation 4 and 5. You can only play console games on site at the library. List of games here→
We invite kindergarten groups, classes and teachers to visit us for library hours.
- Library hour is an educational and participatory non-formal educational program in the library.
- It lasts about 45 minutes.
- Educational programmes are free of charge for Tallinn educational institutions! (except Culture Ticket classes). For institutions outside Tallinn, the library’s price list applies (except via Culture Backpack). ↓
You can also come on a guided tour with a class or a kindergarten group. Tours can be combined with a thematic library lesson. Details of content and time are to be agreed with the librarian.
Tallinn Libraries sell fiction (including children’s literature and poetry) and non-fiction books that are out of date, in large print or in new editions. Book prices start from € 0,15. The books on sale can be consulted at the library. The proceeds of the sale will be used to buy new books.
Libraries occasionally organise book fairs, keep an eye on our news, events calendar or join our newsletter. We also share information on our social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
We offer our readers free use of our group room. The room can accommodate up to 20 (theatre style) or 15 (tables) depending on the furniture arrangement. Please book in advance.
To organise paid training courses, events or public events, the same space can also be rented at 40 € per hour, with a coefficient of 0,4-1,0.

From the sports equipment collection you can borrow for free of charge various training equipment, exercise and training games and other mobility-related equipment.
Laagna garden
The Laagna garden is a place open to all for activities and socialising. Laagna garden is organised by the NGO Lasnaidee. Everyone has the opportunity to make a contribution:
- by regularly taking part in workshops and events,
- caring for communal flowerbeds with others,
- taking care of your own personal flowerbed,
- helping with the organisation of the garden.

For visitors with special needs
- Wheelchairs and pushchairs can be accessed via a ramp. It is difficult to enter the library from the outside door without assistance. It’s a good idea to have an escort. Call 635 0020 if necessary.
- The service counter is equipped with an hearing loop, which you can use with your hearing aid in hearing loop mode.
- You can borrow a magnifiying glass for on-site use.

Public transport and parking
Public Transportation
- The library is located right next to the Lindakivi kultuurikeskus (Lindakivi Cultural Center). The nearest bus stops are Vana-Kuuli (buses 29, 40, 44) and Kotka kauplus (buses 7, 9, 12, 29, 42, 46, 67).

Parking
- Visitors arriving by car can park for up to 2 hours for free at the Võru 11 parking lot using a parking meter.
- When driving to the library from the Song Festival Grounds, turn onto Vana-Kuuli Street, drive straight across Liikuri Street, and shortly after, turn left through the gate at the beginning of Lindakivi puiestee.
- Coming from Lasnamägi along Liikuri street, turn to Võru street, you can park your car free of charge near the building Võru 14. To get to the library, you have to cross Võru Street and walk a little more than 10 metres.
