Donate to the library

We would be grateful for any books (in good condition) on the list below that are either missing from our collections or for which we would like to acquire additional copies.
If you would like to donate any of the books on the list, please bring it to your nearest Tallinn Library.

We add donated books to our collection selectively, in accordance with Tallinn Libraries’ collection development policy.

We will include a sticker with the following text on the book that has been donated and registered: “This book was donated to Tallinn Libraries. Would you also like to make a gift? Find out more at www.tallinnaraamatukogud.ee”.

If the donor wishes, we will publish the name of the donor on the library’s website.

Books and other publications donated to Tallinn Libraries and added to the collection are processed in accordance with the library’s procedures. For example, we add the library stamp and barcode to the book. The donated publication becomes part of our collection, which we lend to our readers to read on-site or at home. We will handle the donated item in accordance with Tallinn Libraries’ collection placement and design policies, including deletion from the collection, if necessary, according to the procedures in place. Donated items will not be returned to the donor.

Donate to the Music and Film Hall of the Südalinna Library

The Music and Film Hall has many excellent films on old VHS tapes that should be replaced with DVD versions. If you happen to have any of the DVDs on the list below sitting on a shelf at home, we would be very grateful for a donation.

We can accept 1 copy of each DVD. To make a donation, please contact the Music and Film Hall.

DVDs and other audiovisual materials donated to Tallinn Libraries and added to the collection are processed in accordance with the library’s procedures. Once accepted into the collection, the donated item becomes part of the library’s holdings and may be borrowed by readers for use on site or at home. We do not return donated DVDs to the donor.
