After being able to solve two crimes at such a young age, Pip should be over the moon with herself, right? Wrong. The only emotions that she currently feels are guilt, anger and fatigue. She constantly blames herself for what happened a few months ago. And on top of that, she is being stalked. An anonymous person keeps writing to her “Who will look for you when you’re the one that disappears?”, she finds headless stick figures on her pavement, creeping closer and closer to the house and someone (probably just a cat) leaves dead pigeons at her doorstep. Poor Pippa is terrified, tired and she doesn’t feel like her old self anymore. Her beliefs have changed and her world is upside down. As she starts to look out for the stalker, the clues bring her back to her very first case and an old case from 6 years ago. Andie Bell is starting to get tied to Pip more and more, it almost feels like she is tied to the whole city somehow. Can Pip find her stalker and solve another old case? The price is high and she needs to be quick and precise to save herself.
The last book is full of surprises and plot twists. You can try and guess, what happens at the end, but it’s guaranteed that you will miss by a mile. The plot is even more risky then in the previous books and it all comes together to an unexpected end. Suitable for teenagers and adults.
