Gus is a boy with a gentle soul, a ravenous appetite for sweets and the face of a deer. An odd combination? Not really. Ever since the Affliction raged across the world, all children have been born as hybrids of humans and animals. The representatives of this new species are not safe. They are the preferred target of hunters.

One day, the hunters reach Gus’ door. Unexpectedly, a savior appears – a violent and mysterious man, whose name is Jepperd. Together, they start a fearsome journey through a dystopian world, in order to reach the safe haven for hybrid kids.
