We have a puppet theater called “Säde”. The library has put together great puppet shows based on the librarians’ favorite children’s books. For example, the shows include “Tark koer” by Piret Jaaksi and “Mõmmilood” by Heljo Männi. The shows last approximately 10 minutes and take place during library hours.
Puppet theatre diversifies library visits, makes library lessons more interesting and playful, and helps children get to know the book environment better. The playful form encourages children’s involvement, develops listening and expression skills. Since the texts of the performances are adapted to library lessons, they are also easily understandable for children with other home languages and support integration through fun activities.
