The Glittering World of Bollywood

Pallavi Singh Jain will discuss the colorful and dazzling world of Bollywood. The lecture takes the audience behind the scenes of India’s largest cultural export, exploring Bollywood’s history, economy, stories, themes, and influence both in India and around the world.

The discussion will also touch on the exuberant romance characteristic of Bollywood and how Indian film culture has found its way around the world.

In a lecture tailored to the rather “restrained” tastes of the Baltic Sea region, there is no singing or dancing—especially not to the song “Jimmy Jimmy.”

The event will be held in English, with Estonian interpretation.
