Greenactivist Elliot Lään will teach how to make “seed bombs” at the Kalamaja Library (Kotzebue 9) on 2 May at 13:00. A “seed bomb” is a seed ball rolled in paper or clay that can be thrown afar. Their special feature is that the birds cannot reach the seeds and with the first rain, the covering material of the seeds falls apart – as if the seed had already been buried in the soil. This gives the plant a better chance to grow.
Seeds of local forest, fescue and meadow flowers are placed in the balls.
If you want to contribute to the biodiversity of the city (and nature in general) and be extra sure that your planted seed will grow, the seed bomb is the answer.
Registration required: kalamaja@tln.lib.ee or 683 0970
We sometimes take photos and videos at our events to share great moments on Tallinn Library’s social media channels. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let the organizer know before the event begins.
