User guide

Keyboard navigation

You can only navigate using the keyboard. Navigation is done using the Tab key. Each press moves the focus to the next item. The currently active element is indicated by a colour change and a box around it. To activate a link in focus, press the Enter key on the keyboard.

The first link that becomes active when navigating in this way is “Skip to main content”, which skips the header and menu and jumps to the main content of the page. This link is hidden from the average user and is specifically designed for keyboard navigators.

Increasing content’s size

Web browsers

To increase the content, we first recommend using the built-in functionality of the browser.

In all popular web browsers, it is possible to zoom in and out by holding down the Ctrl key (Cmd key in OS X) while pressing either the + or – key. Another handy option is to use the mouse: holding down the Ctrl key while moving the mouse scroll wheel. To return to normal size, press the Ctrl and 0 keys simultaneously.

Browser extensions

For web browsers, there are plug-ins that can be added to the existing functionality of the browser. For example, “Zoom Page” for Firefox, which allows you to zoom in on the whole page or just the text; AutoZoom for Chrome.
